Edge Fund members have finished the lengthy but satisfying process of scoring and reviewing applications. We are pleased to announce that our shortlist for Round 8 has been finalised.

The following groups asked for smaller amounts, and will receive a grant based upon their position in the short list without needing to attend the funding day:

We would like to thank all of our members for their hard work in scoring applications!

The next step in our grant giving process is our Funding Day on in London on Saturday 17th February, in the Stockwell Community Centre, where the top 15 applicants and our members will come together to vote on which groups will get the larger grants. Check out our report on Round 7’s funding day, to see what’s involved.

‘Scotland Branch’ Application Workshop

December 6, 2017

We held a application workshop last month, in Glasgow’s excellent WestGAP. We supported the members of eight scotland-based groups with their application to our current funding round.

There were members of DPAC Glasgow, Anti-Capitalist Queers, Mixed Race Families Scotland, Planning Democracy, and several other organisations, who were bringing excellent applications to talk about.  They all seemed to benefit from the workshop, and we look forward to reading and scoring their applications.

One very exciting proposal for Scotland a small devolved funding process. £1000 has been released from the national fund to support a pilot project, created and led by our Scotland-based members. There was not much time to consider this project, but plenty of enthusiasm for it.

We also talked about how to increase our Scotland membership, and raise awareness of the Edge Fund, and the possibilities of a ‘Scotland Branch’.

We hope to continue developing the ‘Scotland Branch’ and devolved funding, early next year. Watch this space!
